About K-WASH

The Kenya Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (K-WASH) Program is a flagship initiative under NAWASIP that seeks to accelerate progress towards universal WASH coverage. The program is being implemented in 19 predominantly rural counties, including several that host large refugee populations.

If fully implemented, K-WASH will provide safe water and sanitation access to all Kenyans, reduce urban–rural disparities, empower girls and vulnerable communities, and strengthen Water Service Providers financially and institutionally. The programs also aim to attract private sector investment, support climate resilience, and promote long-term sustainability of water resources.
