MEETING WITH OFFICIALS FROM THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR GENERAL TO DISCUSS KEY ISSUES

Together with all Heads of Departments, we held a productive meeting with officials from the Office of the Auditor-General to discuss key issues of transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery within the water sector. The meeting focused on the progress of the terms of reference, scope of reporting, access to records and designated officers, formation of liaison teams, and agreed audit timelines. This entry meeting specifically covered the Horn of Africa Ground Water for Resilience Project and the Kenya Water Sanitation & Hygiene Program(K-WASH). During the session, I directed the relevant officers to compile and submit comprehensive status reports on ongoing projects to ensure full compliance with regulatory and financial standards. I further emphasized the importance of swift execution and strict adherence to timelines. The Auditor-General’s team is expected to work closely with assigned liaison personnel to ensure a seamless audit process, which will conclude with the issuance of the management letter. This collaborative engagement underscores our unwavering commitment to good governance and accountability in the implementation of critical water sector programs.
